Shapewear Control That’s Right for You
Shapewear garments are not created equal. Some may give you more control over your shape while others may just provide you with a smooth shape.
The difference lies in the level of control offered by your shapewear. Use shapewear with appropriate control levels for maximum impact. Generally, there are four levels of shapewear control:
- Light Control Shapewear. This is the best option if you have a well-proportioned body with minimal bulge. It is also ideal during warm weather since most light shapewear are made of lightly textured fabrics.
- Moderate Control Shapewear. For a well-proportioned figure with pronounced bulges, moderate control shapewear is best. They provide subtle shaping but are still comfortable for long-term wear.
- Firm Control Shapewear. For trouble spots like a muffin top or saddlebags, firm control shapewear will do. Usually made of heavier material like rubber, firm shapewear reshapes your body to look slimmer and bulge-free under your clothes.
- Extra Firm Shapewear. Ideal for total body reshaping, extra firm shapewear is for you if you are the sort who want to "feel" a shapewear working. Usually made of rubber and other heavier material are also often used as compression shapewear for post-surgery use.
If you are still unsure about shapewear compression and control, use the chart below as a guide:
